Learning Manager

Salary: £25,000 - £30,000 (dependent on experience)

We are seeking the following individual on a full time permanant basis to help join us in becoming a world-class cultural attraction right at the heart of everything Manchester has to offer.

The main purpose of this role is to manage the Musuem's learning services for both formal and informal learners, ensuring that fianancial and human resources are deployed effectively. In addition you will contribute to the operation and continuing development of the Museum with particular focus on Learning and Interpretation.

Ideally you will have a first degree, preferably in education or a related discipline, have experience within a museum and educational environment and hold a recognised teaching qualification. You should be able to lead and manage the formal learning and public programmes team, develop learning programmes and be able to manage resources copled with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Finance Officer

Salary: £23,651 pa

We are seeking the following individual on a permanent within our Finance Department to help join us in becoming a world-class cultural attraction right at the heart of everything Manchester has to offer.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will ensure that timely and accurate financial information is produced for both the Museum and MSIM Enterprises Limited. You will provide an efficient and effective financial service to other departments and play a key role within the Finance Team

To succeed in this role you will possess a professional accounting qualification of at least AAT or equivalent coupled with demonstrable practical ecperience of general accounting, production of management accounts and budget monitoring. You will be computer literate with specific experience of accounting software and spreadsheet packages. You will have excellent planning skills for yourself and others, be able to meet deadlines and work under pressure.

Learning Bookings Assistant

Salary: £13,527pa

We are seeking the following individual on a permanent basis within our Learning Department to help join us in becoming a world-class cultural attraction right at the heart of everything Manchester has to offer.

Reporting to the Learning Programmes Co-ordinator, you will be responsible for providing an excellent information and bookings service for schools and other learning groups coupled with providing comprehensive administrative support for the Learning Department.

To succeed in this role will possess 5 GCSE's or equivalent to include English, with work based experience in a busy customer focused environment. You will be computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft Office

Stempoint Manager

Salary: £28,702

Fixed term contract approx. 3 years

The museum has been awarded the three-year STEMPOINT Contracts by STEMNET, the organisation supporting the UK's requirement for science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) qualified people at all levels. The contracts are to encourage schools to take up STEM enhancement and enrichment activities in order to support teaching and learning in schools, thereby increasing the uptake of STEM subjects beyond GCSE.

The main purpose of this role will be to manage the delivery of the STEMPOINT Brokerage Services and the Science and Engineering Ambassadors (SEAs) Management Contracts for Greater Manchester.

Other key functions of the role are to manage the recruitment of staff, budgeting and the managed use of other resources to ensure the STEMPOINT contracts objectives are met.

Ideally you will posses a BA or BSc (Hons) Degree in a science, technology, engineering or mathematics subject; a professional teaching qualication would be desireable.

You should be a good organiser with excellent communication and influencing skills and have an understanding of the needs of teachers. Experience and working knowledge of project management and current factors affecting this area are essential to fulfill this role. A flexible approach to working hours and a willingness to travel throughout the region are also required.

Stempoint Officer - Part time

Salary: £13.500 (FTE £22,500)

Fixed term contract approximately 3 years

The main function of this role will be to implement the delivery of the Science and Engineering Ambassadors (SEAs) Management contract for Greater Manchester through working alongside other internal departments, liasing with schools of all levels and to recruit scientists and engineers from various local sources to volunteer as Science and Engineering Ambassadors.

Ideally you will have a first degree preferably in a science, technology, engineering or mathematics subject and have previous project management experience. Good communication skills are needed as well as the ability to work well in a team, liase with other internal and external departments and knowledge of MS packages. You should have a willingness to work flexible hours, work from home when required and undergo appropriate further training.  

Stempoint Administrator

Part time (term time)

The purpose of this role is to provide administrative support for delivering the STEMPOINT Brokerage Services and Science and Engineering Ambassadors (SEAs) Management Contracts for Greater Manchester. You will do this by maintaining databases, initiating and maintaining contact with schools and FE colleges in the Greater Manchester area, compiling reportsand information and collating feedback.

To succeed in this role you will be a good communicator with a minimum of 5 GCSE's or equivalent. In addition you should also have good working knowledge of MS Office packages, pay attention to detail and ensure accuracy is maintained, you should be well organised, self motivated and have the ability to work in a team.
