Post Title: Dance Programmer
Fee: £9,000, plus reasonable approved expenses
Contract: Freelance position, 75 days running from March –December 2010
MDI is seeking a freelance Dance Programmer to develop, co-ordinate and manage specific large-scale public and participatory projects as part of Leap 2010. To include:
* Assisting MDI team with International Day of Dance – April
* Programme City Steps - June
* Curate dance programme with MDPN from July – December
* Develop a series of community showcases and platforms in association with Merseyside Local Authorities as appropriate
* Manage a budget
* Attract additional resources to the programme
Successful candidates will have a proven track record in a dance/arts project management role, experience of managing dance performance or participatory events, excellent project administration skills, experience of managing budgets, strong time-management and communication skills, and an enthusiasm for dance.
It is anticipated that the Dance Programmer will work from MDI,'s office in order to connect with relevant team members. The Dance Programmer will also be expected to work in other locations around Merseyside during delivery of the projects.
This post holder will work closely with the MDI Director and will be a key part of the Festival team.

Part-time Marketing Officer
Terms & Conditions:
Salary: £18450 p/a (pro rata)
Hours: 17.5 hours per week, ideally to be worked over 5 days (Monday to Friday).
This post is initially funded to March 2009, and it is expected to continue beyond that date subject to relevant funding being secured.
General:
Merseyside Dance Initiative (MDI) is the regional dance development agency for Merseyside in the North West of England. Based on Hope Street, Liverpool, MDI operates two dance studios and a busy administrative office. The events presented and produced by the MDI are varied and diverse, including studio classes, continuing professional development workshops, and the annual LEAP Contemporary Dance Festival. We also run a significant amount of education and outreach work in the wider Merseyside community.
We are looking for an energetic individual to join this dynamic and exciting organisation and play an integral part in the MDI staff team. Together with the Administration & Information Manager, you will have responsibility for delivering effective marketing of all aspects of our work, and for developing and maintaining MDI’s profile with the public and press. You will also have responsibility for the distribution of print, and the promotion of workshop bookings.
