Area Profile Reports

Area Profile Reports are an Arts Council England initiative designed to help arts organisations gain a better understanding of their local or regional population.

They include a wealth of geo-demographic and lifestyle information that can help inform funding, business development, marketing and audience development decisions.

Area Profile Reports are available to not-for-profit organisations working in the arts and cultural sector and to venues receiving work from funded clients of Arts Council England.  They are also available to local authorities for arts development purposes.  If you an Arts Council regularly funded organisation or an MLA accredited museum, you are entitled to one FREE Area Profile Report, and each subsequent report will cost just £25 plus VAT.

Area Profile Reports – what are they?

An Area Profile Report describes the population that falls within a defined area. This may be the area within a certain drive time or distance from your venue, or a certain district, county or region, or a combination thereof. The information in the report is provided at the postal sector level, as well as an overview of the entire defined area.

The report provides a whole host of useful information from demographic statistics to social and economic indicators to estimates of the number of potential arts and museum attenders.
