Our Members
“There is something about Manchester that makes people collaborate to try things out: it’s a can-do city.”
Sue Vanden, Director, Hemisphere Design & Marketing and former Chair of AAM
Between them our members present, create, exhibit and perform some of the most exciting, accomplished and engaging work that art has to offer.
Including galleries, theatres, museums, concert halls, libraries, orchestras, arts centres and festivals, our membership is made up professional arts organisations from across the 10 districts of Greater Manchester.
As competition for people’s leisure time and money increases, the arts has to continually innovate to find new ways of reaching the potential audience and retaining the existing audience.
Our role is to support members in being aware of and reacting to changes in trends and demographics, developing new audiences and new ways of communicating with existing ones. We also help them to understand their business landscape, enabling them to ‘thrive, not just survive’.
As well as offering practical support we believe that collaboration plays a key role in growth of the sector, so we actively encourage the membership community to work together, debate common issues and share learning.
